Welcome to Best Dog Food Reviews! This site has one purpose, assisting you in determining the best dog food for your dog and you.
In my profession, I am constantly asked, “What is the best dog food?” and my response is – it depends. There is no single dog food that is the best for every dog. Even dogs from the same litter have different nutritional needs. It depends on your dog’s age, activity level, environment, health and your budget. But don’t be fooled by the price alone. Price per pound has little to do with the actual cost of feeding your dog.
On this site you will not only get my unbiased opinion about the quality of the dog foods I review, you will also learn about the ingredients and additives in dog food, how to read and understand the product labels, and how to determine the true cost of feeding your dog. I discuss what to avoid and what to look for in a dog food, common health problems and the nutritional deficiencies or food allergies that cause them, and I cover the myths and controversy about the dog food industry.
Dog food manufacturers change formulas. I will re-evaluate my reviews at six-month intervals and will change the review as needed. Remember, just because it is a good food for your dog and you today, doesn’t mean it will be tomorrow. Over time the formulas may change and your dogs’ needs definitely will.
My bachelors degree is in animal sciences and my career has allowed me to work with and for numerous pet food and livestock feed manufacturers in all areas from sales to manufacturing and consulting. And although I still work with several pet food and livestock feed manufacturers, the majority of my time is spent working with farmers, breeders and individual animal enthusiast developing the nutritional feeding program that is right for them.
I share my experience on this site because there is a limit to the number of dogs and people I can help individually. You will find the answers to many of your questions here, but if you don’t or you want me to review a dog food I have not covered, contact me.
